Letter From the President
Our 2008 Annual Meeting: President’s Report Last
year the energy and interest in how our roads were being managed
really escalated and we are very happy for it. We have well attended
road sub-committee meetings. Owners complaints are noted and they
are soon recruited as road captains. Our board goal is to give every
person with a complaint a job so they can see every detail of the
process they think we might be hiding or otherwise mis-managing. We
have lots of owners that have volunteered to be road captains. They
have been listening and appreciate your concerns. The captain refers
your concern up the chain to our Property Manager, who is the final
decision maker on road work orders. The difference today is that
your road captain has plenty of say about verifying your problem in
his/her/your local area. Since the annual meeting we have had four
board meetings, three more than usual, and a very well attended road
sub-committee meeting. The energy is here – let's keep it going.
We have road captains now that are driving the roads
and thinking of how we can save money here-and-there and maybe put
it to a problem wash near you. What this eventually means is that
your road may only have a little or no erosion, why grade it? Why
not put our Association dollars to better use by fixing a nearby
wash? If you complain we will address your concern. The board looked
at our contract and it says that your road will be maintained. We
are trying to manage all the dues for road grading as best as
possible. You may live on higher ground that has minimal erosion.
Why grade your road when there is no reason? If you complain, your
captain will report it. Get to know your local area captain. Whether
you live here of not, our job is to see that all roads are passable.
Please see further under the Road Committee report. THANK YOU TO
VOLUNTEERS I want to thank the many volunteers that arrived at 7:00
A.M. on the morning of the annual meeting. They all pitched in to
set-up and taking down. It went so fast—it was close to fun.
